Nashville, TN (November 21, 2013) ---- Modern hymnwriters Keith and Kristyn Getty recently completed the fall 2013 leg of their Hymns for the Christian Life Tour on November 12th with a performance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. The 22-city tour crisscrossed North America from the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, TX, to Hamilton Place Theater in Hamilton, ONT, and from Shadow Mountain Community Church (David Jeremiah) in San Diego, CA, to First Baptist Church (Charles Stanley) in Atlanta, GA. Twelve cities on the tour were first-time appearances.

The tour, named after the Getty's critically acclaimed album, Hymns for the Christian Life that features performances with Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, and Moya Brenan, presented the opportunity to sing with more than 40,000 people, and several of the concerts were in sold-out venues including the Getty's premiere performance in New York City. At most stops along the tour, Getty Music hosted a special luncheon for local pastoral and worship leaders featuring talks on modern hymnody.

"We are greatly encouraged by the growth of the hymn renaissance, especially in cities as culturally-influential as New York City, Los Angeles,CA and Washington DC," says Keith Getty."It is a privilege to write hymns and to help be stewards of them, and we are thankful for the partnership of each person who contributed to the success of the tour."

The Getty's also performed songs on the fall tour from their latest album, Keith & Kristyn Getty: Live at The Gospel Coalition that released in September. This is the first live album from Keith and Kristyn, and it captures the strong performances given by the couple live onstage. The project features seventeen songs and includes many of the Getty's most popular hymns and a few of their favorite traditional hymns as well. The album also spotlights a new song, "Lift High the Name of Jesus," that was co-written by the couple and their producer for the conference, Ed Cash.

The Gettys will be taking a well-deserved break for the holidays and are looking forward to the birth of a new baby, their second daughter, in December. However, they will be working on plans for their spring and fall tours in 2014, along with the return of their popular Christmas tour next winter, Joy-An Irish Christmas.

About Keith & Kristyn Getty
The Gettys met in Belfast, Ireland when they began songwriting together. They were married in 2004, and two years later they recorded their first project as a couple in the United Kingdom and Nashville, TN. In 2007, they made the journey overseas to America and lived in Ohio for three years as they began their professional career, but found their permanent home in Nashville, July 2010. In 2011, the Gettys welcomed a new addition to their family when their daughter, Eliza Joy, was born. The Gettys have released 4 albums and have garnered incredible success in 6 short years that include an acclaimed repertoire of 21st century hymns and one of the most impactful live performances. The couple has appeared at Franklin Graham crusades, the GMA Dove Awards, The Third Lausanne Conference on World Evangelization, as well as feature performances at London's Royal Albert Hall, the legendary Grand Ole Opry, along with many other noted platforms. One of Keith Getty's most popular compositions is In Christ Alone, co-written with Stuart Townend and released in 2001. The song was well-received that year but continues to grow in popularity, remaining the #1 most-sung-hymn in the UK since 2006 (CCLI) and finding position among the top 20 such songs in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
